Limestone metamorphic rock, formed of intertwined calcite crystals and often resulting in beautiful marbles.
The latter are the result of regional metamorphism from another single-constituent sedimentary rock.
Marbles are formed from limestones and dolomites.
If the original sediments are formed of practically pure carbonates, the products of metamorphism give a white or colored marble which can be used for decoration.
