Description
Skin that is smooth and downy, fleshy, variegated, juicy, soft, soft… It has it all. It is so popular that it is sometimes used as a first name. Khokha, One of the most sought after and consumed fruits in the world. It appears in all sauces over the course of a summer. Canning takes over the rest of the year. It would have come to us from China. Although its botanical 'marital status' of prunus persica would make it come from ancient Persia. Rapidly spread around the Mediterranean, it underwent cultivation in gardens to become the fruit we know today and give rise to varietal mutations. Since then, varieties such as brugnon and nectarine have been born which are not hybrids between the peach and plum but varieties resulting from natural mutations. Peaches, nectarines and nectarines have hundreds of varieties with different shapes, skin and flesh textures, colors and flavors.
