Description
This species is common in certain localities. It is found in summer and autumn in forests or at their edges, in parks and gardens.
The cap is white, a little dirty, shiny and without scales. It does not yellow spontaneously, even when exposed to heat.
The base is bulbous at the bottom, white and browning. The ring is large and stands out circularly.
The flesh is thick, white, often lemon yellow in the bulb. It gives off an odor characteristic of this species and its group which is reminiscent of iodine, phenol or ink.v
A species to be rejected, its unpalatable flesh can cause stomach, rarely intestinal, accidents.
