Description
It is a metamorphic rock formed in the deep parts of the earth's crust by the mineral transformation of other rocks under the effect of heat and pressure.
It is a layered rock. Dark beds are represented by ferromagnesians and light beds consist of quartz, plagioclase and feldspar.
Feldspar, which also forms light, eye-shaped areas, gave this rock its name.
